An Executive Chef at one of Phuket's top 5 star resorts gets artistic and musical inspiration from cultural super stars to create yummy dishes that will have you singing for your supper!
Anantara Phuket Layan Resort and Spa has launched a series of Culinary Quest collaborations at the hotel's Sala Layan Restaurant, which combine gastronomy with artistic and musical creativity.
Serving international cuisine, the restaurant is one of 3 food and beverage outlets at the hotel, which also has a Thai restaurant and a poolside bar.
Executive Chef Umberto Piccolini is joining hands with some of Thailand's most innovative artistic and musical talents to create unique dining experiences one a month.
The first monthly event, which was held in December 2014, showcased a range of Thai art forms. The 2nd event, which was held in January 2015, featured a 5 course menu that drew inspiration from an Italian musical composer.
The events will continue on the last Friday of each month throughout 2015.
The hotel has 30 rooms and suites and 47 villas. It is a beachfront pool bar, a spa, a fitness centre, a kid's club, a cliff-side wedding chapel, and non-motorized water sports.
And in case you're wondering why they don't offer motorized water sports, I'm only guessing, but I think it's so as not to annoy other guests.

The hotel is located on Phuket's west coast, 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport.
The hotel is is 15 minutes from the Blue Canyon Golf Course, 20 minutes from Phuketa Fantasea, 30 minutes from Phuket Town, 35 minutes from Patong Bech, and 45 minutes from the Phuket Aquarium.
