Sports: Airline Adds Flights Between New England, Seattle and Phoenix for Super Bowl Fans

Airlines add flights from New England and the Pacific Northwest to accommodate New England Patriots fans and Seattle Seahawks fans flying to Phoenix, Arizona, to attend the Super Bowl XLIX.

Southwest Airlines joins a growing list of airlines adding flights to accommodate football fans flying to Phoenix, Arizona, to attend Super Bowl XLIX at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale on Sunday 1 February 2015.

The budget air carrier will fly to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport nonstop from Seattle/Tacoma International Airport (SEA) in the Pacific Northwest and two airport in New England: Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Manchester/Boston Regional Airport (MHT).

Manchester/Boston Regional Airport is a secondary airport located in Greater Boston. The airport is served by 5 airlines: Delta Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways.

The airport has regularly scheduled non-stop service to the following domestic travel destinations: Atlanta Jackson International Airport in Georgia; Baltimore/Washington International Airport in Maryland; Charlotte Internatinal Airport in North Carolina; Chicago Midway Airport in Illinois; Chicago O'Hare International Airport in Illinois; Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Michigan; Fort Lauderdale International Airport in Florida (seasonal); Las Vegas McCarren Field in Nevada (seasonal); Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey; New York LaGuardia Airport in New York; Orlando International Airport in Florida; Philadelphia International Airport in Pennsylvania; Tampa International Airport in Florida; Washington National Airport in the District of Columbia.

Southwest Airline's additional flights to accommodate American football fans attending the Super Bowl will operate betwen 29 January and 2 February 2015.

"These extra flights give us more opportunities to connect our Customers to sporting events that are important in their lives," says Andy Allmann, Southwest Airlines' Director of Customer Engagement.

"We're bringing in more sports fans than ever before in Phoenix when everything from basketball, a golf tournament, and the biggest football game of the year is taking place."

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is Southwest Airlines 4th most important travel destination in terms of daily departures.

The airline started serving Phoenix in 1982. It now has 164 daily nonstop flights to 48 cities across the United States.

JetBlue Airways and United Airlines have also announced enhanced flights schedules to accommodate fans of American football planning to attend the Super Bowl.
