Alila Villas Uluwatu has invested in water purification and bottling equipment in order to produce drinking water that has been filtered and bottled in reusable glass bottles right on the resort hotel's premises.

The system was developed by EcoPure Waters, a UK-based company that has been producing water purification systems for more than 20 years.

The initative not only reduces the amount of plastic bottles used on the property. It also reduces the carbon emissions generated by transporting mineral water to the resort.

Bottles are washed using a biodegradable chemical.

The initiative is a part of the hotel's on-going commitment to implementing sustainability across its operations. Corporate social responsibility is one of its core values

The resort was the first hotel in Indonesia to obtain the highest level of certification from EarthCheck as a Best Practice Building Planning and Design (BPDS) development.
