In flight dining, in flight entertainment, pre-flight departure lounges, Wi-Fi- connectivity - these are some of the issues that will be addressed at the annual Passenger Experience Conference and Aircraft Interiors Expo Americas, which take place at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, Washington, between 14 and 16 October 2014.

A lot of attention will be paid to technology - and how apps can 'enhance' the passenger experience. Will leg room be addressed?

At least 35 airlines from around the world will take part in the event.

North American carriers attending the conference include American Airlines, ATA Airlines (formerly American Transair), Atlas Air, Delta Air Lines, Express Jet, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue, Southwest Airlines, and WestJet.

Airlines from Asia, Europe, and the Middle East will also be in attendance.

"Airlines are more competitive than ever with onboard services," says Michael Planey, Consultant at HM Planey Consultants.

“We will highlight the finest uses of technology in delivering world-class passenger amenities. Engaging with the passenger begins the moment they click on your website and continues throughout their journey. Staying connected to passengers in flight is a critical component of retaining their good will and loyalty.”
