Following a 2 month renovation The Pawn has reopened with a new chef, a new menu, and a new look.

Renowned Michelin Star Chef Tom Aikens has revamped the restaurant's menu with ‘a strong mix of casual and high-end cooking’.

“Our intention is to serve dishes that not only appeal to local diners, but also travellers and foodies. Above all, we want to create a fun dining experience and a relaxed, informal environment. Building onThe Pawn’s long-standing reputation, we offer guests a dining experience unlike anything else in Wan Chai.”

The interior of the eatery has been given a complete makeover. Each one of the 3 floors serves a different function, and each one has a different feel.

Roof Garden

Bar 1908 resembles a private club. The dining room has an open plan layout. Herbs are grown on the rooftop, which has been turned into an urban garden.

"We’ve created an all-day dining counter with a backdrop of hundreds of potted plants,” says Alan Lo, Press Group Co-Founder.

“As guests enter via the narrow stairs, the greenery is their first visual reference. The historic architecture of the first floor provides many challenges so we’ve divided the area into individual sections where each space serves a different purpose but contributes to the overall design.”

The Pawn is housed in a 3 storey shophouse, which formerly had a pawnshop on the ground floor - hence the name. The buildindg is one of the few surviving heritage structures on Hong Kong Island.
