A hotel group with 3 resorts in the Maldives launches an innovative suntanning programme to ensure that guests return from their Indian Ocean holiday with a perfect suntan while avoiding a painful sunburn.
Anantara Luxury Resorts properties in Dhigu, Veli, and Naladhu in the Maldives has teamed up with Coola, maker of organic sun skincare products, to offer guests a menu of suntanming treatments suitable for all skin types.
The programme begins with a detailed skin analysis to determine the skin type and SPF requirement of guests in order to maximize the amount of time they can spend in the sun so that they can acquire a natural, long lasting tan without getting a painful sunburn.
Professional preparation and soothing after care treatments are performed by therapists either in the spa or in the guest's own private villa.
Morning Sun Soother
The first treatment is a 60 minute Morning Sun Soother, which prepares the skin for a day of lazy sunbathing, snorkeling, or water sports with a Coconut and Mint Scrub and Wrap, Pre Sun Care Facial, and application of Coola Sun Protector, as well as a Sun Care Coola SPF body treatment to moisturize and protect the skin from sun damage and sunburn.
Sunscreen top ups are available near swimming pools and on the beach at each resort. Tanning experts re-apply Coola SPF Body Spray every 3 hours to moisturize, nourish, and protect the skin.
Following a day in the sun, guests can opt for a 60 minute Sundowner Recovery Remedy with a Recovery Body Aloe Sun Soother, Post Recovery Facial Sun Soother, and Post Body Recovery Application together with a deeply relaxing Head, Neck, and Shoulder Massage.
A full day programme runs US$150. Treatments can also be ordered individually.
OMG! I sure with the hotels I stayed at in Bali offered this! I got a painful sunburn on my first day, which resulted in my having to avoid the sun for the next 2 weeks of my 30 day trip.
