The first internationally branded hotel has opened in the Kai Tak section of Kowloon East in Hong Kong. The 32 storey Pentahotel Hong Kong, Kowloon, has 695 rooms. It is within walking distance of the Diamond Hill MTR station.
Kai Tak was home to Hong Kong International Airport before the new airport was opened at Chek Lap Kok in 1998.
There are many ethnic restaurants in nearby Kowloon City. Wong Tai Sin Temple, Nan Lian Garden, and the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal are all nearby.
“We’re thrilled to open our doors to welcome our first guests and serve our neighbours with style and spirit,” says General Manager Andy So.
“It’s an honour to be the first pentahotel in this extraordinary city; we look forward to taking an active role in our community and playing a part in the emergence of a dynamic new Hong Kong district.”
